Scottish singer Annie Lennox is going to be awarded with a lifetime achievement prize at the Inspiration Awards for Women.
56-year-old Annie Lennox is going to be recognised for her career with the Eurythmics, her solo music achievements and for her charity work tonight at the Inspiration Awards for Women.
“Annie Lennox is an icon; she has done so much for humanitarian issues. She is so successful and she works tirelessly as a humanitarian campaigner. She is an amazing person and a good example for young girls,” said Skylet Andrew, founder of the Inspiration Awards for Women, speaking exclusively to The Fresh Outlook.
“The academy needs to choose the right woman to set the example and inspire other people. Annie Lennox used her success to help other people and she should be recognised for that. She is a singer, a writer, a philanthropist and she is a symbol of enduring excellence,” Mr Andrew added.
Last June Ms Lennox received an OBE for her work in Africa. She is a UNAids goodwill ambassador and an ambassador for Oxfam; moreover, she is the founder of the Sing Campaign, a project which raises awareness of Aids in Africa.
The Inspirational Awards celebrate inspirational women promoting positive images of women and recognising those who are good role models. The event sponsors Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research, education and campaigning.
