Why donate?
We are a regulated not-for-profit organisation. We don’t receive funding from any one source for the newspaper, or our other not-for-profit projects via FreshTies. We rely heavily on donations from larger numbers of people for our work. This helps ensure our independence.
In addition to our journalism, we also provide opportunities to up and coming journalists from all walks of life, both in our newsroom, and remotely. Like many worthwhile activities, there are costs that we need to cover, and we want to ensure quality.
Moreover, we want to grow our newspaper to live out the values and ‘mission’ that you may have read about. This includes growing more journalism opportunities, having the capacity to carry out investigative work and advocating for people in our societies who remain unheard.
