Our approach to news.
We want to ‘tell the news like it is’.
So, our overriding aim for news coverage is to inform you, rather than influence you. We’ve got the freedom to do this, to the best of our abilities, because The Fresh Outlook is independent of political, religious or financial ties. Moreover, the parent organisation of the newspaper, FreshTies, is a not-for-profit.

At The Fresh Outlook, we are free to cover issues that affect all people because we have no potential obligations to any particular individual or organisation holding a stake in our newspaper. We can also cover non-mainstream issues as part of bringing to you the bigger picture. In this way, we can present information for people to make informed choices.
In addition, we can:
- Reflect all viewpoints on an issue.
- Avoid sensationalising or scaremongering.
- Follow up on stories, beyond the media hype.
- Explore causes, solutions, and follow-ups to issues.
- Provide a platform for people who don\’t find representation in news.
- Cover success stories and other positive news.
- Use accessible language to inform anyone.
