Homosexual “Propaganda” Banned in St. Petersburg

Russian city of St. Petersburg is the latest to ban “homosexual propaganda”. Activists are not surprised and anticipating little change.

Twenty years after Russia de-criminalised homosexuality, the second city of St. Petersburg has ruled to ban “homosexual propaganda”.

The move has been made in response to calls from politicians and the Russian Orthadox church, a very conservative and powerful force in the country.

The Guardian reports that the law’s content is vague. It says that the law prohibits “public action aimed at propagandising sodomy, lesbianism, bisexualism, and transgenderism among minors”.

Nikolai Alexeyv, founder of Moscow Gay Pride, told The Fresh Outlook: “I think that it’s not … very surprising that the law was adopted, we have other regions which did it before … we already have personal cases against laws of this kind at the European Court of Human Rights and the United Nations Court of Human Rights.

“For us it was more surprising that St. Petersburg has adopted the law because St. Petersburg is a more tolerant, more liberal city in Russia,” he added.

Gay rights activists claim that the new law is one of many methods that the government, supported by the Russian Orthadox church, are using in order to clamp down on protests.

However Mr Alexeyv does not believe that “the law is really going to change a lot … it’s not really very well applied in practice”.

Anyone convicted of breaking the new law can be fined anywhere from between 5,000 (£108) to 500,000 roubles (£10,811).

Russia has the right to enforce this law to protect the hearts and minds of the people. Gays should not be harmed nor treated inferior, but the fact is they are not born gay. Being gay is a behavior. You can’t keep pushing your behavioral activities onto the world, as if this is something you all need to accept. We don’t have to accept this behavior. It is abnormal behavior and as such, you have a right to do it, but not display it in public. Russia should be proud to be one of the few countries trying to protect its people from the insidious and pernicious gay agenda. Gays in America are out of control in their obsession to hijack marriage and pose as normal everyday folks. The reality is a woman and woman and man and man will never be the same as a man joined with a woman. Never. This drives gays nuts. They want so badly to be the same as a man and woman together and it just doesn’t work, so they are very angry and frustrated and live in a chronic state of denial and revenge. The gays are the haters. Gays hate everyone who refuse to acquiesce to their abnormal behaviors. Just because popular stars and celebrities support gay rights doesn’t mean gay behavior is right. These compromised celebs are sold out weak minded people who can’t think for themselves. They are like sheep, led to the wolves. Again, gay people should not be mistreated. But they are not born gay. This is the biggest lie told in gay community. And they know it. They have to keep insisting they are born gay to justify the behavior.
