Freeman and Blount Carry Buccaneers to Triumphant Comeback

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Indianapolis Colts 24-17 Monday night; this was the Colts’ fourth successive defeat this season.
The Buccaneers beat the Colts 24-17 after coming back from a 10-0 deficit. This comeback was fronted by Joshua Freeman, the quarterback (QB), who threw 287 yards and scored a touchdown.
The Colts were without star QB Peyton Manning after a neck injury had left him sidelined for the game but what was more worrying for the Colts was their back-up, Kerry Collins, was also injured. This meant that Curtis Painter, the Illinois born QB, had to step up.
The day started well for Painter as the Colts moved ahead and he made a pass to Piere Garcon, which turned out to be the longest play of the season, as Garcon ran in an 87-yard score in the second quarter. Freeman was the first to score for the Buccaneers as he battled his way over from one-yard out. This made the score 10-7 at the halfway point.
Garcon got his second score of the day in the third quarter as he took a pass from Painter and side-stepped his way through the defensive line to score from 59 yards out. This turned out to be Indianapolis’ last score of the day as Tampa dominated in the latter stages of the game.
The Colts QB, Painter, struggled in the closing stages of the game as they had lost their offensive linesmen due to injury.
The game was brought level late in the third when Freeman completed a 13-yard pass to Preston Parker which resulted in a touch down. Le Garrette Blount made the final score of the game when he broke through the line of scrimmage and made a 35-yard dash for the end zone. This made the final score 24-17 to the Buccaneers.
The Buccaneers will be ecstatic with their victory but will wave to work on their discipline before their next game as they were flagged for a total of 14 times and 106 yards.
