Sonny Wool Predicts Quarter-Final Results
October 6, 2011 TheFreshOutlook |
An allegedly psychic sheep in New Zealand named Sonny Wool has predicted the results of the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals.
Sonny Wool has predicted the quarter-final results in a similar fashion to Paul the octopus in the Football World Cup. The sheep makes its predictions by selecting food from one of two identical food bowls that are placed below the relevant nation’s flags.
The North Island sheep was named after New Zealand centre Sonny Bill Williams and has become a national celebrity since making his predictions. He even has his own agent, Dan Boyd.
Sonny Wool has only predicted the All Blacks’ results and has been correct in all his predictions so far, but he has now puts his reputation on the line by predicting the results of all four quarter-final matches.
Beverley Dowling, the owner of Sonny Wool, took the sheep to a Wellington primary school to make his predictions for this round in front of a live audience.
The psychic sheep has decided that England will overcome a French team that are in disrepair after their loss to Tonga, South Africa to have the edge of their tri-nations rivals Australia, New Zealand to beat Argentina and Wales to lose out against the Irish.
Sonny Wool’s integrity will be put to the test this Saturday and Sunday when the northern hemisphere teams battle each other at 06.00 BST and 08.30 BST on Saturday, whilst the southern hemisphere teams face each other at the same times on Sunday.
