Jessie J Dominates Mobo Awards

Singer Jessie J has won four awards out of the five categories she was nominated in at the Mobo Awards.
Artist and performer Jessie J took four awards at the urban music event, the Mobo Awards, on Wednesday.
Jessie J won awards for ‘best UK act’, ‘best newcomer’, ‘best song’ for ‘Do it Like a Dude’ and ‘best album’ for ‘Who You Are’.
“I just want to say the biggest thank you to my fans because I watched this last year by myself in my living room and no-one knew who I was,” she said.
Jessie J, who opened the awards with ‘Do it Like a Dude’, received the praise of Kanya King, founder of the awards: “Jessie’s opening number - I think people will remember that for a long time to come,” she said.
The ‘best video’ award went to Tinchy Stryder and Dappy for ‘Spaceship’.
Taking place for the second time at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Centre in Glasgow, the event was hosted by US star Jason Derulo and singer Alesha Dixon.
Moreover, Adele won an award for ‘best R&B/soul act’ and Rihanna was named ‘best international star’.
Also at the awards, Dionne Bromfield paid tribute to her godmother, the late Amy Winehouse, by singing Winehouse’s ‘Love is a Losing Game’.
