Packers Continue Unbeaten Run

The NFL continued this weekend with a number of exciting games including the Green Bay Packers against the Atlanta Falcons.

The Packers continued their unbeaten run after beating the Atlanta Falcons 25-14 on Sunday. The current Super Bowl Champions had to come back from a 14-0 deficit to beat the Falcons in the second half.

After being held in the first half the Packers took a different approach to get back in the game and opted for some field goals, managing to claw their way back to 14-9 with the help of Mason Crosby.

Aaron Rodgers then threw his first touchdown (TD) pass of the night as James Jones ran in a 70-yard TD; this gave the Packers the lead late in the third. This lead was then increased early in the fourth quarter as Gregg Jennings scored a TD from 29 yards, before Crosby then finished the game off with a final field goal for the Packers, making the final score 25-12.

The San Francisco 49ers demolished the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 48-3, which makes it two wins in two weeks for the 49ers. They demolished the Buccaneers with the help of Alex Smith who made three TD passes including two to Vernon Davis.

Frank Gore ran in a TD for the 49ers and made it his second straight 100-yard rushing game. The only dampener on this superb performance by San Francisco was a late injury to wide receiver Josh Morgan who had a great game up to that point.

The New Orleans Saints faced the Carolina Panthers in what turned out to be a highly competitive game that ended 30-27 to the Saints. They led the game for the first three quarters but the Panthers moved ahead through Greg Olsen at the beginning of the fourth.

If it was not for Drew Brees the Saints would have been sent home with a first loss in four games, but the quarterback kept calm and helped the Saints move downfield and found Pierre Thomas out wide to give the Saints the lead with 50 seconds remaining.

Elsewhere the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Tennessee Titans 38-17, and they did this using a quarterback who had one good foot. Ben Rothlisberger had a sprained ankle but played a major role in the Steelers victory, as he threw 228 yards and five TD passes.

The Titans were never really in this game as the Steelers out-scored them by five TDs to two and this gave Rothlisberger the second highest amount of TD passes ever for the Steelers.
