Man City and Newcastle Look to Remain Unbeaten In Premier League

Manchester City and Newcastle look to remain unbeaten as Sir Alex Ferguson celebrates 25 years at Manchester United on Sunday.
Queens Park Rangers will step out on Saturday aiming to be the first team to halt the on-form and unbeaten Manchester City.
However, Rangers may be without winger Adel Taarabt, who has been struggling with illness. Last year’s Championship winners have made a confident start to life in the Premier League, lying 12th in the table, but will be tested by a City side that has scored 36 goals in 10 league games.
City will be without club captain Vincent Kompany as he serves a one-game ban for the red card he received against Wolves last week.
Along with Manchester City, Newcastle United are the only unbeaten side left in the league so far this season. Newcastle will hope they can continue their good form when they face Everton and St. James’ Park on Saturday.
United will hope Demba Ba can continue his good form, which has seen him score eight league goals. Everton have struggled to find the form that saw them finish in seventh last season, and will be hoping to bounce back from a loss to Manchester United last weekend.
Sir Alex Ferguson celebrates 25 years as Manchester United manager on Sunday, and United will hope to mark the occasion with a win on Saturday when they host Sunderland.
Ferguson spoke about his “fantastic spell” in his pregame press conference, and with managerial positions so often changing in modern football; he remarked how it had been a “fairytale to last so long”.
Sunderland manager Steve Bruce, a former captain for Ferguson as a United player, will hope his team can build on a last minute Stephane Sessegnon equaliser against Aston Villa last time out. Sunderland are in 14th place in the league, and only four points above the relegation zone.
Chelsea will hope to put a rough week behind them as they travel to a struggling Blackburn Rovers.
Chelsea captain John Terry is expected to return to the team after being unused as a substitute in Chelsea’s midweek game against Genk, and Blackburn received welcome news when David Dunn was made available following a calf injury.
Blackburn’s owners have banned fans from bringing in banners that call for manager Steve Kean to be sacked into Ewood Park. The Rovers manager has come under fire from the club’s supporters in recent weeks, and will hope a favourable result against Chelsea will relieve some pressure.
Premier League top scorer Robin Van Persie will hope to add to his tally of 10 goals against West Bromich Albion on Saturday. Arsenal has been steadily climbing the table after a rough start to the season and will hope to fight their way back into title contention with a win.
The London derby between Fulham and Tottenham is the pick of the Sunday match-ups. After a convincing win in the Europa League on Thursday, Fulham will hope to polish off a fine week with a third win.
